I qualified as a doctor from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 2003 after completing my medical degree and an intercalated degree in anatomical sciences.

I completed my junior doctor years in South Wales and Somerset and my rheumatology training in Devon and Cornwall.

I started work as a Locum Consultant Rheumatologist at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases, Bath, UK in 2011 before taking a sabbatical to raise money for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS).

I moved to Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 2012 and worked as a Consultant Rheumatologist, Associate Sub-Dean and Senior Clinical Lecturer for Newcastle-upon-Tyne Hospitals and Newcastle University.

I relocated to Dubai in 2019 and have been working as a Consultant Rheumatologist and Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Mediclinic Parkview Hospital and Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Between 2020 and 2021 I spent time working as an acute medical doctor looking after patients with COVID.

I am moving back to the UK in 2026.

I became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in 2016 and passed my EULAR European Certification in Rheumatology in 2018. I have published numerous manuscripts and abstracts in journal publications and written a number of book chapters. I have delivered lectures nationally and internationally.

In 2016 I was nominated for, and subsequently won, the NRAS Healthcare Champion award and was presented this award by the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Theresa May MP, at the Houses of Parliament.

In 2021 I was nominated as scientific chair of the GCC Association of Immunology and Rheumatology. I organised and chaired the first three Middle East Rheumatology Conferences in 2021, 2022 and 2024.

I have developed a number of specialist interests within the field of Rheumatology including Young Adult and Transitional Care and the Management of Pregnancy in Rheumatic Diseases.
